This past week has been a whirlwind for everyone in Vero Beach as we navigated the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Our community faced some tough moments, especially with the devastating tornados that touched down. While we’re incredibly fortunate that everyone in our community is safe, it’s heartbreaking to see the impact it had on our town. Our thoughts are with those who were affected.
As soon as the storm passed, I found myself feeling anxious to get back to the studio. The first thing on my mind was checking on our facility. To my relief, there was no damage, but the challenges weren’t over—the power was out. I thought, "Okay, tomorrow will be better." But each day that followed left me staring at the studio, waiting for the lights to come back on.
After three days of waiting, it hit me—we can’t just sit around hoping. We needed to find a way to move forward, with or without power. That’s when I decided: The House of Warriors kickboxing vero beach fl must open, even if we had to do it in the dark.
Adapting to the Challenge
I rushed to buy battery-powered emergency lamps—the highest lumens I could find. The goal was simple: create a safe and well-lit environment so we could train, no matter what. On Saturday, the 12th, I opened the studio and welcomed a few students back for private lessons. Seeing their smiles and eagerness to train reminded me of why we never give up, no matter the circumstances.
The real challenge came on Monday, the 14th. I was fully prepared to run classes under those emergency lights if needed. But, as if by some miracle, the power came back on just in time, and we were able to operate as usual.
The Lesson: Resilience and Adaptability With kickboxing vero beach fl
The takeaway from this week is simple: Never give up. Life will throw challenges your way, but resilience is about finding solutions—even when things don’t go according to plan. Whether it's a hurricane, a power outage, or a personal struggle, the key is to adapt and keep moving forward.
We talk about this in our martial arts training all the time. Sometimes, things won’t go the way you expect—you miss the perfect punch, the opponent is quicker, or your plan falls apart. But just like in the studio this past week, you can either give up or find a way to make things work. Warriors choose the latter.
Thank you to everyone who stuck with us through this challenging time. Your patience and support mean the world to us. We’re back to full operation now, and I can’t wait to see everyone on the mats.
Let’s keep moving forward—together.Remember: When life throws challenges your way, you adapt, overcome, and never give up.
Stay Strong,
Master Dave Tenedorio
